Bankruptcy Of Bed Bath & Beyond What Catholic Organizations Can Learn From It

This morning I read about how Bed Bath & Beyond is teetering on bankruptcy.

The company's former president said that their success made them reluctant to change.

Is your Catholic ministry reluctant to change?

Bed Bath and Beyond's decline shows what happens if we stop innovating.

Trends

In marketing and advertising for Catholic organizations, I find that much of the battle is won through constant learning and monitoring trends.

The way people consume content keeps changing and the best advertising/marketing mediums often fluctuate.

Google Search ads are best for development professionals looking for donors or Catholic schools looking for new students.

Email tends to be most effective at driving event attendance (plus it's cheap).

Change

The effectiveness of these advertising mediums are ever changing, but I like doing this kind of research to help the Church and organizations like yours grow instead of shrink like Beth Bath and Beyond.

I'll keep you posted on notable trends I see.

In the meantime, God bless you for the wonderful content you produce. More people should see your content.

Cheers,

Chris Pham
